  • Lupus must affect a minimum of two body systems or organs, such as kidneys and the lungs, or the heart and the brain, and…
  • Lupus must cause at least two of the following symptoms to occur
    • Fever
    • Exhaustion resulting in low physical activity or mental activity
    • Malaise (feelings of physical discomfort or illness resulting in low physical or mental activity)
    • Weight loss

OR

  • Symptoms of lupus, with at least two of the symptoms above or resulting in the following limitations:
    • Limitations of daily activity
    • Limitation in maintaining social functioning
    • Limitation in completing daily tasks
